This seminar targets the prevention and detection of the happening of financial crimes within the African banking system environment through the recognition of the associated risks to financial crime typologies.
With respect to the international regulatory Framework set to counter Financial illegal activity, the Union of Arab Banks in collaboration with the Central Bank of Djibouti organizes this seminar in order to enhance the latest means as well as comprehensive and practical tools for fighting Money Laundering and Terrorism Finance so as to protect and preserve the integrity of the financial sector within the African Countries.
The seminar will enable the detection of the sophisticated methods and recent trends used by organized crime to introduce, launder and escape illegal funds through financial institutions. Moreover, the seminar will help the financial institutions to implement and update the required procedures and compliance controls mandatory to perform regulated financial activity in respect of the International, regional, and locally applied compliance standards.

Module 3- Risk Based Approach
- The Components of the RBA.
- How to integrate a logical and applicable RBA according to the profile of the Financial Institution

Module 4- Compliance Due diligence and its requirement
KYC and Customer Due Diligence: Customer identification and verification
- SDD -Simplified Due Diligence, EDD -Enhanced Due Diligence
- Clues for conducting an EDD investigation.
- UBO and how to recognize the true account holder.
Module 5- Correspondent Banking
- Elements of Foreign Correspondence, Regulations, and Procedural Framework.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE SPEAKER:
Aline Tufenkjian presents herself as currently employed at Credit Libanais Group, which she joined in 1991, and which is considered one of the top ten banks in Lebanon, acting as the Head/Manager of the AML/CFT/Compliance Training and Research Department at CL Group Compliance Division, responsible of the Compliance Culture Program and AML/CFT/Compliance training programs.
Aline holds a Postgraduate degree DEA in politics and Public Administration from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences -Institute of Political Sciences ST Joseph University of Beirut –USJ with a thesis related to the policies for combatting Money laundering and Terrorism Financing.
-A professional member of the ICA –International Compliance Association with the title of Fellow member and holder of an International Diploma in Compliance since 2013.
-As one of the Middle East and North Africa leading AML/CFT/Compliance research and training Professionals Aline is a regular speaker at international conferences with the WUAB- World Union of Arab Bankers and the UAB- Union of Arab Banks also involved in the MENA –US private sector dialogues related to AML/CFT/Compliance gatherings
-Aline held the position of Compliance Manager from 2017 to 2019 at AM Bank responsible for the daily operational transactional compliance controls and the drafting of manual policies and procedures as well as the implementation of compliance procedural frameworks within the bank in conformity with the compliance regulatory requirements.

-Member of the Compliance Committee of the Association of Banks in Lebanon attending the committees and participating in decision-making processes in relation to compliance topics and regulatory developments.
-Member of the Anti-Cybercrime Working Group Members –AC-WG at the Special Investigation Commission, the FIU at the Central bank of Lebanon, for the drafting of the Cybercrime Guide for Financial Institutions 2017 –cybersecurity awareness culture for financial institutions.
-Member of the GCCO- Group of Certified Compliance Officers at the WUAB -World Union of Arab Bankers since 2005
-Awarded by the Ambassador of the United States in Lebanon H.E. Mr. Jeffrey Feltman on the occasion of The Woman’s Achievement Day for the contribution to AML research &development, 2007, and papers related to the combatting of financing terrorism.
