VIRTUAL CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FINTECH FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

OBJECTIVE:
The Fintech for Sustainable Development workshop aims to raise awareness among financial institutions on the strategic role that fintech could play in addressing the financing challenges of the sustainable development agenda : the role of fintech in improving financial inclusion of under served groups (Low-income citizens and SMEs), building resilient infrastructure (e.g. energy), fostering innovation (small holder agriculture, sustainable and land use), and promoting sustainable industrialization in the Arab Region to MENA region.
WORKSHOPS APPROACH:
The Fintech for Sustainable Development workshop will showcase what banking peers are implementing with regards to fintech topics from different countries; giving a perspective on what is available in the market, how to be more resilient and better prepared for innovative solutions, as well as providing participants with best practices on fintech in their context.
LANGUAGE:
This workshop will be delivered exclusively in English with a simultaneous translation in French.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Mid-Level Sustainability Managers and on ground practitioners, digital banking and innovation team, corporate, investment and retail banking.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
The workshop necessitates a total of 4 hours of participant engagement over two consecutive days.
Certificates of completion are issued to participants who will attend the two days.

Suleiman Barada is an Independent Technology Business Strategist. A Sr. Advisor at the Union of Arab Banks, and Head of UABdigital where he spearheads the ecosystem digital transformation arm of the Union, with an ecosystem-wide vision and mission, and a mandate to leaving no financial institution behind in the Digital Economy within the Arab countries. Suleiman is also Chair of the Advisory Board at the Arab Banks Innovation Council (ABIC). In that capacity, and reporting into the Secretary General of the Union, Suleiman is leading a Pan-Arab digital banking agenda on FinTech Collaborations, Open Banking, CBDC, and other trans-formative initiatives affecting the Arab banking sector as a whole.

Before that, Mick served as a lead innovator in multiple positions within the Department of Defense where he helped digitize and transform the US Army. Mick is a certified management accountant and possesses advanced degrees in business and psychology. A natural change agent, Mick is an executive innovation practitioner with his work appearing on NPR, American Banker, Harvard Business Review, Workforce Magazine, Fast Company, and numerous academic articles.
