Location: Riyadh – Saudi Arabia

Date: November 18-20, 2024

Time: 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM

Background:

A key objective of the Finalizing Basel III (Basel IV) revisions is to reduce excessive variability of risk-weighted assets (RWAs). It addresses a number of shortcomings with the pre-crisis regulatory framework and provides a regulatory foundation for a resilient banking system that supports the real economy. A prudent and credible calculation of RWAs is an integral element of the risk-weighted capital framework. Banks’ reported risk-weighted capital ratios should be sufficiently transparent and comparable to permit supervisors and other stakeholders to assess
their risk profile.

This workshop is designed to equip banking professionals, bank regulators and bank examiners with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of Basel IV through interactive sessions and expert guidance. Participants will be well-prepared to lead their banks and financial institutions through the regulatory compliance of this new framework. The workshop provides participants with a detailed tour of the Basel III global reforms issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) through a mix of presentations and numerical exercises.
