Since its inception, the UAB has acted as a pivotal referral entity for the entire Arab banking and financial community, providing:

• The organization of regional and international banking conferences
• The organization of specialized seminars and workshops
• Periodical publications (monthly magazine, Arab Banking Review, Books and Directories) to enrich banking and financial knowledge in the Arab region
• Information, statistics and research reports on the Arab, regional and international Banking industry
• Comprehensive and specialized studies and research pieces in the field of Arab, regional and international banking and financial affairs
• Arab and international experts in the fields of banking, finance, and investment

1. In-house Training:

The UAB organizes in-house training programs for Arab banks, which aim at developing the skills and experience of employees to be better equipped to accommodate the ongoing development and innovations in banking and finance.

2. Specialized Training:

The UAB has developed a strategic initiative of providing specialized training that leads to professional certificates and banking diplomas, in cooperation with internationally recognized organizations.

Seminars:

The UAB prepares, coordinates, and executes annual programs, which include banking seminars for banking administrative, technical, and support staff. These seminars have become symbolic platforms for exchanging ideas and experience between Arab bank officials on recent issues of extreme importance to the Arab financial business sector. The UAB has positioned itself, via these seminars and programs, as a leading platform for coordinating training efforts in the Arab region, serving the interests of Arab training centers and institutes, and the interests of the Arab banking sector, in general.

Conferences:

The UAB organizes annual top-level banking and financial conferences which gather an elite group of economic, financial and banking leaders and experts from both Arab and foreign capitals. The global conferences aim to address and discuss current issues impacting international and Arab economies and banks, and further seek to adopt practical recommendations regarding sound banking practices. The UAB believes these international conferences provide quality networking, cooperative efforts and communication between Arab and international bankers and banking institutions. The multitude of annual conferences organized by the UAB in Arab and international capitals has become a prime platform for promoting banking and economic relations between Arab bankers, banks and international institutions.

Magazine:

The UAB plays an integral role in raising the level of awareness, knowledge and education in economic and financial fields within the Arab regions through its specialized magazine addressing banking and financial affairs entitled, “Ittihad Al Masaref Al Arabiya.” The magazine is considered as the official voice representing the Arab banking and financial sector and society. The magazine is distinguished by its outstanding research and profound scientific studies about the latest developments in banking and finance. The UAB’s specialists and experts in banking and finance work in coordination with leading bankers from the Arab world who contribute to the magazine’s material.

Arab Banking Review:

The UAB publishes a research publication on a quarterly basis entitled, “The Arab Banking Review,” which includes a set of practical studies on the latest issues in banking and finance which have distinctive significance for Arab bankers and finance professionals inside and outside the Arab region.

Books:

The Union has effectively contributed to enriching the Arab banking and financial library with over (400) books, to date. These publications address vital issues that enrich ones knowledge of the Arab banking community in the fields of modern finance and banking. The UAB’s contributions to publications and authored books constitute worthwhile scientific and practical contributions used by leading bankers and financial experts in recognizing recent trends and developments in international and Arab banking and finance.

Data and Information Center:

The UAB commenced on the process of transforming its Arab Banking Data Bank, which provides information on Arab financial and banking institutions and periodic reports on recent trends in the Arab banking sector, to the Data and Information Center (DIC). The DIC ensures the proper utilization of data and information related to banking, financial, investment, economic, social and human sectors along with the thorough utilization of such data and information in a way that ensures global knowledge about the Arab world.

The DIC aims to enhance the general image of Arab nations in the banking, financial, investment, economic, social and human levels via the provision of accurate and comprehensive data and information to Arab, regional and international entities. The DIC also aims at putting a vast array of banking and economic information at the disposal of the Arab banking and financial community, helping advance them in their decision-making process.

It is planned for the DIC will include a public library which feeds the DIC with information, while benefiting from the DIC’s information. The information will be available in soft and hard copies, functioning in line with standards of similar international centers. The updating of the DIC’s information will be done regularly by specialists in the field of data and information pooling, documentation, entry and extraction.

The Continuous Training Center (CTC):
The UAB has established “The Continuous Training Center (CTC)” in its offices at Ramlet Al Baida.
The main objective of the CTC is to organize annual banking training programs in the fields of traditional and Islamic banking. These annual programs may be repeated, according to demand.
